Product Description
The Hanna Instruments HI 9126 is a portable meter for measuring the pH, temperature and oxidation reduction potential (ORP) of a substance.
The meter features a large, dual-level LCD screen, with a graphical interface that provides instructions for calibration. Temperature compensation and pH calibration are automatic, with five memorized buffer values (pH 4.01, 6.86, 7.01, 9.18 and 10.01). The meter comes with the HI 1230B combination double-junction, gel-filled pH electrode, and the HI 7662 stainless steel temperature probe with 1 m (3.3') cable. The meter can also be used with ORP electrodes (sold separately).
The HI 9126 has a range of -2.00 to 16.00 pH (+ or - 0.01) and a resolution of 0.01 pH. Temperature range is -20.0 to 120.0 degrees C/-4.0 degrees F to 248.0 degrees F (+ or - 0.4 degrees C / + or - 0.8 degrees F) with a resolution of 0.1 degrees C / 0.1 degrees F. ORP range is + or - 699.9 mV; + or - 1999 mV with accuracy 0.2 mV; + or - 1 mV and resolution 0.1 mV; 1 mV. Input impedance is 1012 Ohm, and the meter operates using three 1.5V AAA batteries which provide approximately 200 hours of continuous use (sold separately).
pH testers measure the acidity or alkalinity of a substance and are commonly used by researchers, manufacturers, and hobbyists.

Hanna Instruments HI 9126N Portable pH/ORP Meter Review
I have used this product for over 1 year. The features are very good. The meter is easy to calibrate and both the pH / ORP measurements are accurate. The one bad feature is that the battery compartment is not isolated from the rest of the electronics. I had a battery leak and contaminate the meter and it would no longer function. If you don't plan on using the meter often it is best to take the batteries out of the compartment. It had been about two weeks since I had last used the unit when the battery leak occurred. The probes don't seem to last very long. I had to replace the probe after about 7 months of use. Note: this was even after careful cleaning and storing the probe between use.
