In the end, I consider the Eames Lounge to be the sexiest piece of furniture that has ever been designed. Not being someone with an extra 4-5K burning a hole in my pocket, I reluctantly decided to purchase this replica in order to hold over the need to own the real thing. With the exception of the leather (which in this case is actually "bonded" or synthetic leather), everything else seems to be spot on. It is worth mentioning that this synthetic type of leather scratches easily, so I would exercise caution when sliding around, but for the price it can't be beat. The wood is beautiful & bright. The build quality overall is quite impressive. The only negative (& it's a small issue at that) is that the ottoman is not meant to swivel like the chair itself. This slightly limits the movement of the chair, but doesn't really affect much, as the chair is not wheeled in the first place. The ottoman is light enough to move into whatever configuration I desire with little effort. The padding is incredibly comfortable on both the chair & ottoman, the design of the chair is classic & the width is nice. The angle the chair sits at makes you feel like you are permanently in a lounge position. Absolutely perfect for chilling at home in front of the big screen. Looks right at home in my mid century house as well. Highly recommended for anyone who has lusted after an Eames Lounge but hasn't had the dough for a real one.
