I used a Kitchen Aid for 10 years, but had outgrown it (I have four boys who aren't even teenagers yet). I had the option of upgrading from my 5 qt model to a 6 qt model, but after reading and talking to friends, I decided to switch over to the Bosch.I watched eBay for several weeks and ended up paying $230 for it. I installed it myself and it is just wonderful. I did have to give up a drawer, but that is a small price to pay IMHO.
With the stainless steel cover over it, I don't even notice it and it gets stuff piled on it just like the rest of the counters. People have come over and not even noticed it. I have since purchased the food processor and blender. I am very pleased with this machine. I envision many years of happy use.
