First, I am always amazed at how fast Amazon ships its products. Even though the wait time was listed for four to six weeks from the time an order is placed, I received this bed in three weeks to my door.

As far as initial inspection and quality goes, at first glance, everything looks great. The headboard's fabric is just as impressive as the other reviewers mentioned and there's plenty of hardware to go around. And that's about where it ends. The instructions, while they look simple enough, do not do a very good job of differentiating the different types of screws, bolts, washers, etc. Either you have to have some shop knowledge and know your hardware from the beginning, or be prepared to grab a ruler so you can determine which bolts are 1/4 inch and which are otherwise. Additionally, since our bed was a king (which happens to be longer than it is wide (or wider than it is long...can't really tell, but according to Skyline furniture, it's longer than wide and setup won't go any other way), certain pieces will not line up and there is no clear label to identify which parts are which. On more than one occasion, I found myself having to disassemble, move, and reassemble parts for the best fit. Finally, when it came time to put on the fabric bedrails, despite negotiating every which way I could, the sides do not line up properly. This makes it glaringly obvious that your bed is not, in fact, a wood box with upholstery, but rather an Ikea-ized DIY job. Of course, this is the tradeoff for buying the bed at a fraction of the cost. I'm sure those with more patience than I can get them to line up properly. All in all, I removed a star for the quite unnecessarily over-complicated installation and lack of quality control on the bed parts.

Not worth the deduction of a star, but I do believe Amazon should either show more pictures of the bed without mattress and boxspring to observe this, but this bed does not have platform rails; instead, it has three additional rails upon which you affix feet. I'm glad I'm building this bed days before I need to sleep on it as I now have to return to Amazon to purchase a boxspring since my memory foam mattress is incompatible with this bed at the moment.

Long story short, super fast shipping, nice fabric quality, subpar instruction set, subpar quality control, but overall a very pleasant looking bed that at least appears to cost far beyond Amazon's posted price. Pictures to follow.
