Works better than the 20 year old beam it replaced though the beam was probably wearing out. Easy to install if you're at all experienced with simple household maintenance. The only concern I had was about the control wires. The old ones had to be stripped and connected by trial and error without any instructions. The only time consuming issue was attaching the existing vacuum lines which required adjusting the height of the unit. Someone with better measurement skills might get it on the first try. Bought this to replace a beam because beam is sold through dealers that were hard to get a response from or insisted on installing it themselves. This looked like an equivalent unit but turned out to be smaller quieter and more powerful as well as significantly cheaper
