We replaced our Breville 800JXL with this one (Omega J8006). It is not that we were unhappy with the Breville, but the masticating juicers have been shown to produce a juice with a higher nutritional content than centrifugal juicers ([...], [...]). The nutritional content is not as good as juices coming from a juicer with a hydraulic press, but since it costs about the same as the Breville, we decided to go with the Omega. (It is hard to justify spending up to $2500 for a top-of-the-line hydraulic press juicer.)

We have been happy with the Omega's performance and the dryness of the pulp produced. We have found that there is more pulp in the juice than we were accustomed to, but this has not caused any problems with taste or drinkability.

This particular model of juicer has a stronger auger than Omega's other models. The built-in handle makes the juicer easy to handle, and the chrome body makes clean-up quite easy. Preparation of the fruit and vegetables is a bit more time consuming than the Breville because the pieces need to be cut into thin "sticks" (about 3/4 to 1 inch square and as long as you want-a whole carrot fits in just fine). The operating manual recommends that the juicer not be run continuously for more than 1/2 hour, and we have found that the motor does heat up a bit. Just make sure the produce you are going to juice is prepared before you turn on the machine, and there should be no problems.

I would certainly recommend this model.
