I ordered this item and it arrived 3 days later. The box was fairly heavy, about 90 lbs. I was apprehensive about ordering this on line, sight unseen, because of all the rickety junky weightlifting equipment that can be found at the chain athletic stores. I was pleasantly surprised. The pieces of this Roman chair were substantial and heavy duty. A few of the plastic ties holding the pieces in the box had been cut, and one plastic bag was open, suggesting that this might have been a returned item. There were also a few light scratches on the gray painted parts, (perhaps because the pieces slid around in the box) but not enough to warrant sending this item back. All the parts were there, screws, nuts, and all.. except I didn't find any of those cheap wrenches that are often included to assemble exercise equipment. You will need a 1/2" socket and wrench, as well as a 14mm, 17mm, and 19mm socket and wrench to assemble this item. A rubber mallet or rubber dead blow hammer is also usefull for aligning holes so bolts may be inserted. This is due to the fact that the tolerances on this piece are very tight and a little tapping may be necessary to assemble things. It took about 30 minutes to unpack and assemble. The Body Solid logo is protected by a piece of clear tape that peels off to reveal the logo.

The pluses: This piece is more substantial and heavier duty than many Roman chairs found at the YMCA or commercial gyms. I would say it is "commercial quality". Not rickety at all. Very solid. For home use it should easily last a lifetime. It is heavy, stable, and comes with thick pads that are comfortable on your abdomen, calves, and shins. The gray paint and black pads make it look good. It reeks quality. You can work your back (doing hyper-extensions) and abs (doing sit-ups)with it.

The negatives: The assembly instructions are almost useless. The gray painted parts may have a few light scratches on them (not a big deal to me). You'll probably need a set of sockets and wrenches and a rubber mallet or rubber dead blow hammer to speed up assembly. This piece is a bit pricey but you get what you pay for.

Conclusion: I would buy it again in a second. It's a nice piece of equipment.
