IIRC, I got my 1st futon from Soaring Heart Futon in Fife, WA in 1973. It certainly didn't fit in my VW Beetle, It was a bit lumpy and a pain to put together.

There are two sides to the story of this offering.

Pros:
You will not find a unit that is simpler to put together.
It comes in one compact box.
At about 70" length, a good short bed.
The back that converts to a bed adjusts to a new position with a simple pull (once on each half).
Light weight! < 40 pounds in shipping cardboard!

Cons:
It is integrated. When the foam wears out, get the 4MM allen wrench to remove the middle legs and then a phillips screw driver to remove the 2 hinges for easy disposal.

Taste:

It is a firm foam. Comfortable, and not going to break down soon. With heavy use it will go away. My needs are light duty. The occasional one person needs a bed, Maybe I will stop a few hours and watch some TV movie.

The black plastic cover is not going to have anyone thinking leather. And easy to clean.

Other:

The construction, fit and finish are better than average China stuff.
I see it offered here for $300 (landed). At that price point, I would buy a more traditional set up @ $400 or so.
As I didn't pay anything close to $300, I give it a 5 star. I would not have invested $300. What I paid, it is a
great disposable piece of furniture after its service life. There is no buying a new mattress for the frame. It is integrated.
