Frigidaire FRA123PT1 12,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner with Remote Control Review

I bought one of these units last year, and it does a decent (not great) job of cooling my 12x12x8 office with attached closet. It is reasonably quiet and efficient. But . . . Whoever designed the exhaust unit is either a sadist, mentally deficient, or both. One has to first connect what is essentially a dryer hose to the unit, then run it to a plastic plate and out the window. Sounds easy, right? Well, the hose slips off one end or the other all too easily, and must conform to -both- the unit and the plate at the same time! There is no easy way to adjust the fit. No easy task, especially in the heat!

If you buy this unit, I strongly suggest you set aside some time on a coooooool day before you attempt hook-up to the window. Ask someone to help. An extra set of hands is a real advantage.
