SnugFleece Original Wool Mattress Pad - Queen Review

I was looking for something to help with sweating and overheating due to a latex topper on my bed. (Note to person who commented on another review about latex sleeping hot--YES it does sleep hot, for some people!). When you first get it the pad is gorgeous, soft and plush. It does smell a little bit like "barnyard" but that's to be expected since it is real wool. It's faint and not bothersome at all. What I like too about this particular pad is the backing is 100% cotton. No polyester at all.

Amazingly, this really does diminish sweating while sleeping, almost 100%. I could not believe it but I was thrilled. However, I still found I slept hot. Not as hot as w/out the wool pad, but still hotter than I'd have liked.

But the worst part is that after about 3 months of use, the wool, which is sewn into the pad in vertical rows, started to bunch up into channels...creating vertical lumps which were very uncomfortable. Of course I tried fluffing the pad and airing it in the sun as recommended. That worked, but only for one night. Then it would bunch up again. I simply cannot be taking off the bedclothes and combing/fluffing/messing with this pad every single night. That should not be necessary.

Of course since this was after the 30-day trial period, Dreamsoft bedding store would not do anything to help (i.e., would not refund or anything).

I'm out $277 because I cannot sleep on this the way it bunches up. I would suggest use caution with this type of wool pad--with the wool sewn into the top, due to it's tendency to clump up into vertical rows which are uncomfortable to sleep on. Also it does not regulate temperature, (at least for me), as well as it should for the price.

I read all the bad reviews and decided that it wasn't a big deal. I am really not a complainer, so i figured this wouldn't apply to me. Boy were we wrong. My husband (who is really good at putting things together, i'm not just saying this) could not put this crib together because the two ends were alligned wrong. so he had to put a claim in with stork craft to get a one of the parts that the allignment was wrong with. They then after a week DENIED the claim. We had to take video and walk them thru what was wrong. They finally approved the order. When the crib arrived, it was more then 4 weeks later when we finally had everything we needed to put it together when the new part arrived. Was not very happy. Customer service was a joke and near impossible to get good help from. They need better quality control or something...because you could tell they had lots of claims on their bad products.

This case is exactly what I wanted and then some. It's heavy duty metal and glass, and the best part is it's almost sealed, to prevent dust from collecting on your showcase items. When it arrives you'll find it to be incredibly heavy, but it's all metal and glass, with only a few shelves being made of wood/particle board and all the display shelves being tempered glass. The door lock mechanism is great, although I had to reposition it manually because it didn't line up with the slot. The lower metal hinge for the large glass door is also slightly misaligned and the screws are stripped out so I can't reposition it (it came this way in the package), but the door closes well enough and the cabinet is still amazing overall. The lighting is glorious, being 20 watt halogens. The neatest thing about this whole setup is that it can be taken apart and assembled quickly and easily with the exception of the shelf holding the lights, which is a pain in the butt to put in. Still a neat and mainly dust free enclosure!
