The condition of the packaging tape, on the outside, and the presence of some loose (unpackaged) screws, on the inside, suggested that I might have received an item which was RETURNED earlier. Assembly was exceedingly difficult because some parts, such as drawers, were ill-fitting. (It was necessary to hire a skilled carpenter to do a very time-consuming assembly, rather than attempt to return this product.) The assembled stand is not perfect, and the finish is darker than anticipated. The design and color are acceptable. I would be very leery about similar purchases in the future.
