The first base we received had a small crack in the paint and a chip on the base, which was very disappointing. However, the company replaced the base without any trouble, and the new one they shipped to us is perfect. We looked all over for a good tulip table, and knowing we couldn't afford to buy the real one, this was the next best thing.
It fits up to 6 (with smallish chairs) when necessary, and is perfect for 4. It is very glossy, and the lines are pretty. We are very happy we went with this product.
